Memorial Photo Collage
A collage of a lifetime of photos is a gentle way to remember someone at a funeral, a memorial service or a celebration of life. Guests gather around it, find themselves and their memories in it, and the family keeps it afterwards.

Photos from many yearsShapes that carry meaning
- A heart, a dove, a cross, a star, a tree or a flower; several are in the free shapes.
- The person's name or initials, typed with Text (see name collages).
- Something they loved: a fishing boat, a guitar, a golf club, the outline of their home town. Draw it in Shape Collage or load any black-and-white picture as a Custom Shape.
- The years of their life, as numbers.
How to make a memorial collage
- Gather photos from family and friends: scans of old prints, phone photos, photos from every decade. Shape Collage handles hundreds at once.
- Download Shape Collage (free for Windows, Mac and Linux) and add the photos.
- Choose the shape, and set the size for the print: 18 × 24 inches at about 200 pixels per inch is 3600 × 4800 pixels.
- A soft background colour or a photo of a favourite place can work well; borders around the photos help old prints stand out.
- Click Create, add the name and dates in any photo editor, and print it on a poster or foam board for the service. Smaller copies make good keepsakes for the family.
It also works as the cover of the order of service, or as the first slide of a memorial slideshow.
